Der Sound des Albums ist zwar dicht, aber transparent. Manchmal fühlt man sich an einen Bernstein erinnert, in dessen lichtdurchfunkeltem Innenleben Figuren eingeschlossen sind, die vor Zeiten eine ganz andere Existenz geführt haben. Man glaubt, durch die Stücke hindurchhören zu können und bleibt dennoch in ihnen gefangen. Im Zentrum jedes Songs steht der Song selbst. So selbstverständlich das klingen mag, ist das im Jazz immer noch die Ausnahme. Metzger, Aarup, Doffey und Timm haben schon Freude am Solo, enthalten sich aber exhibitionistischer Alleingänge und bleiben im Sinne des Albummottos immer erkennbar im Rahmen.
